A victim in Braintree, MA, told police Saturday, Oct. 5 that the 29-year-old New England Patriots safety became upset when someone called her phone while they were having sex, NBC10 says citing a police report.

Peppers, a New Jersey native and four-time state high school football champion, smashed her head against the wall, pushed her down the stairs, and choked her at least six times, NBC10 said.

Citing court paperwork, CBS said the athlete answered the door without a shirt on saying, "I know what is going on." He also apparently denied putting his hands on the victim and said he asked her to leave the apartment repeatedly.

Peppers was expected to be charged with assault and battery on an intimate partner, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of cocaine, NBC said.

Peppers was raised in East Orange and attended Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, but later left to play for Paramus Catholic. Peppers was a state championship winner all four years of high school. He also set a record for the New Jersey Non-Public Class A outdoor 100-meter dash record with a time of 10.77 seconds as a track star.

After his time playing for Michigan, Peppers played for the Cleveland Browns, NY Giants, and now is on the Patriots.
